Ameresco Project Construction & Designer Intern in Edmonton, Alberta

Responsibilities:

  • Support with project lighting design requirements, to meet current design schedule.

  • Support Ameresco Project Managers, Construction Managers and Project Coordinators with processing security clearances, and other site-specific project administration duties and responsibilities to maintain or exceed project schedule.

  • Support site safety programs, including the development of creating site-specific safety plans for 100+ buildings for current and future measures implementation.

  • Support with prequalification of subcontractors, subconsultants and vendors for project tender documents and bids.

  • Attend site construction meetings and take meeting minutes, as required.

  • Assist with site office administration.

  • Assist with project commissioning, as required.

  • Assist with project close-out requirements.

  • Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be currently enrolled in post-secondary education; University Degree, College Degree or Polytechnic / Trade School.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada without sponsorship.

  • Must have valid class 5 Alberta drivers’ license, in good standing.

  • Required to obtain Federal Reliability Status security clearance as a condition of employment.

  • Experience with AutoCAD, Revit and/or Navisworks.

  • Prior experience annotating or updating construction drawings in new building or retrofit construction.

  • Highly organized, with proven ability to gather, validate, and analyze quantitative data and information.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Excellent proficiency with MS Office Suite, including Excel and Word.

  • Experience with construction software, such as Procore.

  • Excellent verbal, written, computer, technical communication, and presentation skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a larger team.

  • Ability to adapt to changing environments and priorities.

  • Provide deliverables with a high degree of efficiency and accuracy.

  • Any prior training relative to construction safety, WHMIS, quality and environmental or Quality programs such as ISO.
