Roosevelt Care Centers Maintenance Supervisor-FULL TIME! GREAT BENEFITS! in Edison, United States

JOB SUMMARY:

Under direction of the Operations Chief, assists with the planning, budgeting and supervision of the staff engaged in maintenance repair of buildings and grounds of Roosevelt Care Center. Directly performs a variety of the more complex maintenance and repair tasks on the building and grounds

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Maintain a safe and comfortable living environment for all residents & staff

Direct the shop employees.

Prepare & administer employee evaluations and discipline as required.

Maintain an open line of communication with staff and administration on needs and repairs

Maintain inventory of parts and materials.

Solicit material quotes as required by statute and process purchase requisitions.

Receive material and process paperwork for payment

Manage the maintenance of the site in accordance with:

  • Life Safety 101

  • DEP and EPA air permits

  • Local Fire & Building codes

    Assist in the development of annual budgets and manage material budgets accordingly

    Respond as required to after hour issues, emergencies or snowfalls.

    SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

    High school graduate or equivalent. Related college/trade school course work is a plus.

    Ability to read, write, speak and understand English sufficiently to perform the duties of the position

    Excellent interpersonal skills, judgment and ability to work as a team player

    Prior healthcare experience a plus

    Working knowledge of Life Safety code requirements as it relates to fire/smoke detection/sprinkler systems, emergency generators, fire extinguishers, etc.

    Have a working knowledge of budgeting and accounting.

    Ability to develop and motivate assigned workforce and set appropriate priorities.

    Ability to interface professionally at various levels both within and outside of the organization.

    BASIC COMPETENCIES EDUCATION:

    Graduation from an accredited High School or Vocational School or the equivalent.

    Ability to read, write, speak and understand English sufficiently to perform the duties of the position.

    EXPERIENCE:

    A minimum of five years experience in maintenance tasks of a complex and varied nature,

    which shall have been in a supervisory capacity.

    Experience with large building complex systems including water, fire protection, power, air conditioning and maintenance.

    Experience in estimation and interpretation of drawings, specifications and blueprints.
