United Natural Trading LLC Maintenance Supervisor - Woodstock Farms - Edison, NJ in Edison, New Jersey

The Maintenance Facility Supervisor will be responsible for the prompt repair and ongoing daily maintenance of all production equipment. The position will coordinate activities with the mechanics to monitor and troubleshoot problems. Oversee and do the installation, repair and upkeep of employer property, including machines, mechanical systems and assets. The Maintenance Facility Supervisor will also ensure operator issues are addressed in a timely manner including the operation of safe and functionally sound equipment.

Job Responsibilities:

Direct mechanics on all shifts, on the day's priorities, and necessary changeovers 5%

Provide weekly feedback on new and in training mechanics with respect to on-the-job training, knowledge, ease of determining proper repair, and answering operators' issues. 10%

Train, and assist other mechanics on proper changeover techniques, troubleshooting, and repair 15%

Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operations, listening for problems 15%

Removes/replaces defective parts by dismantling devices using hoists, cranes, power, and hand tools. 20%

Performs preventative maintenance on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines by following diagrams, sketches, operations manual, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications. 5%

Provides suggestions and recommendations for proper use of capital expenditures. 5%

Maintains departmental SQF records, SQF logs, preventative maintenance logs and PIT files. 5%

Tests and approves production machine operators; conducts random observations to test operators. 5%

Works closely with other departments to maintain schedules, implement changes and revisions in operational procedures 5%

Train, advise, and counsels associates and provide suggestions to improve performance and productivity. 5%

All Maintenance Mechanic Level I & II responsibilities including other relevant job duties as required. 5%

Performs other relevant job duties as required.

Job Requirements:

Education/ Certifications/or Equivalent combination of education training and experience:

Associate Degree or equivalent experience

Experience:

At least five years of maintenance supervisory experience required.

Required Knowledge:

Must have mechanical aptitude and good troubleshooting skills by use of listening, seeing, and watching

Knowledge of related computer applications

Excellent understanding of facility management procedures

Skills/ Abilities:

Able to organize, coordinate, and direct team activities

Ability to supervise and lead a team of 3 to 5 mechanics Strong problem-solving skills

Good communication skills

Ability to use Microsoft Office applications: Word and Excel

Good math skills

Able to use all related maintenance equipment

Flexible and adaptable to learning and understanding new technologies

Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills
