W Edinburgh brings bold architecture and a vibrant lifestyle offering to the Scottish capital. This W hotel aims to help redefine the city’s hospitality landscape. Accordingly, it’ll fuse the brand’s signature amenities with modern design and W Happenings, highlighting what’s new in design, fashion, music and culture.

The new W hotel can accommodate guests across 244 stylish guestrooms, including 42 suites. While staying here, guests will benefit from the brand’s signature Whatever / Whenever service philosophy.

A real highlight of this property is its rooftop bar and outdoor terrace, pairing exciting cocktails and cuisine with 360-degree views over the historic city. Among the other noteworthy amenities planned are the W Lounge, a restaurant collaboration with SUSHI SAMBA, a FIT workout facility and an AWAY spa, with special functions hosted in 2,450 sq ft of modern event space.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Director of Sales, the Account Director - Leisure Sales at W Edinburgh will be responsible for driving consortia, leisure and wholesale business from different markets.

We are looking for someone who is organized, detail-oriented and switched-on!

Key aspects of your role will include:

Managing Luxury Leisure Sales Activities

  • Focuses on luxury leisure opportunities from luxury travel agencies.

  • Provides account management support for luxury travel agencies focused on luxury leisure individual and group business, consortia accounts located in top source markets.

  • Works with the Director of Sales to ensure understanding of sales strategy and effective implementation of this strategy for your responsible segments.

  • Management of key accounts and programs at hotels, including STARS & Luminous, American Express FHR & THC and In-House Marriott Luxury programs.

  • Travel to key feeder markets on business trips to participate in various industry sales calls, tradeshows, roadshows, throughout the year local and international, in assigned market sources to educate and generate awareness.

  • Analyze market information by using sales systems and implement strategy to achieve individual revenue goals and hotel’s financial goals.

  • Works collaboratively with GSOs, Convention Bureau, 3rd party intermediaries and other hotel counterparts to drive revenue, ensure customer satisfaction and increase market share.

  • Reporting of sales trips, sales actions and sales intensity plan.

  • Conducts checks on transient related website and makes sure all information is updated.

  • Understand overall market - competitors’ strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand etc. and knows how to sell against them.

  • Responds promptly (within 24 hours) to enquiries and follows up to ensure utmost guest satisfaction.

Building Successful Relationships

  • Builds and strengthens relationships with existing and new customers to enable future bookings through sales calls, site inspections, entertainment, FAM trips, trade shows, etc.

  • Manages relationships with the key buyers that drive business to the market to optimize account reach and share for the segment.

  • Effectively manages customer budgets to maximize revenue and meet customer needs and identify opportunities to up-sell products and services. throughout the sales process.

  • Develops strategic relationships with retail and travel management accounts with the purpose of penetrating and growing local market share and driving revenue to hotel.

Preferred:

  • Strong organization and multi-tasking skills

  • Sophisticated communication skills

  • Previous experience working in luxury hotel

  • Previous experience working with consortia, leisure, retail and wholesale in key source markets (U.S. and U.K.)
