UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS - RIO GRANDE VALLEY International Training Development Specialist in Edinburg, Texas

Scope of Job: To perform a variety of duties for entrepreneurship and commercialization projects for the Entrepreneurship and Commercialization Center under the Office of Workforce and Economic Development. Projects may include but are not limited to providing hands-on training and coaching to help founders and small to medium size businesses start, scale and/or land successfully in the United States.

Duties: Coordinates the planning and execution of the center projects for Center's clients. Develops cost estimates, negotiates contracts, and resources allocation for the project assigned. Responsible for providing programming and connector support to small and medium-sized businesses and manufacturers. Supports ventures to become more profitable via improvements in quality, productivity, and general business operations in accordance with Lean Management practices. Provides coaching and program assistance and support to clients by resolving issues and problems through new techniques, concepts, or technology and initiating or coordinating research to determine innovative solutions and best business practices. Provides oversight and support to the international global soft-landing program that supports foreign direct investments (primarily from Latin-American countries) to the Rio Grande Valley to create opportunities in economic development, workforce development and research. Responsible for all activities to promote awareness of the Centers services through a variety of methods including networking, partnership development, presentations, and other special events across the community. Develops and coordinates surveys, to provide status and required data as required. Prepares technical and financial reports of recommendations, projected outcomes, and associated costs; maintains documentation of services provided to customers to ensure compliance with legal, patent, and confidentiality agreements. Develops and maintains customer relations and acts as liaison between the customers and other university entities. Represents the center in several internal and external events, committees, and/or Associations. Responsible for international program development and participation in organizations that support the Center initiatives. Administer and promote development and continuous improvement of businesses to promote global competitiveness. Manages and provides guidance and recommendation on the business incubation process, facilities, and functions. Establishes and maintains resource partner relationship as well as potential sponsors. Network/Collaborate with national/foreign agencies engaged in international entrepreneurial development as well as launch and manage an export program.

Education Required for Position: Bachelor's degree in International Business License/Certification: Preferred: Six SIGMA training. Entrepreneurship Center Management Certificate

Experience Required for Position: Three (3) years of experience in directly job-related experience including training and project management of Entrepreneurial Management System, Ideation and Lean Manufacturing.
