Job Duties:

  • Integrate subsystems (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, controls, software, etc.) into a fully functional system. Verify and validate system performance.

  • Work with team members to resolve system-level issues and gain system acceptance on time and within budget.

  • Train customers on operation of systems and on integration of MTS’s systems into customer product development processes.

  • Develop and deliver MTS training courses in area of expertise.

  • Work with MTS Software such as RPC Pro, RPC Connect, FlexTest, Test Suite, First Road, MPT, AeroPro, etc.

  • Operate full vehicle simulation rigs (such as 329 PC, LT) and 4 poster rigs (such as 320)

  • Work on multi axial simulation tables (such as MAST 353.40, 353.20, 353.10)

  • Perform product demonstrations on software, controllers, and mechanical systems.

  • Review quotations to ensure the test system, acceptance criteria and budget are in alignment.

  • Analyze performance data and customer requirements in support of sales.

  • Develop and deliver presentations for user groups or other professional/technical societies.

Required Minimum Position Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering field; and 1 year of experience the job offered or as an Engineer or other occupation involving testing or experimentation of electro-mechanical systems. Experience may be acquired concurrently with education.

Position also requires demonstrated experience in the following:

  • Control theory;

  • Digital signal processing;

  • Programming in MATLAB;

  • Sensor calibration and sensor setup;

  • Road load data acquisition;

  • Test fixture development;

  • Test validation;

  • Testing using hydraulic actuation;

  • Automotive systems testing rigs and hardware;

  • Multi-Axial Simulation Tables (MAST), including 353 and 354 series; and

  • Automotive component testing.

Up to 35% domestic and international travel to unanticipated client sites.
