OVERVIEW OF THE COMPANYFox TV Stations FOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. These stations leverage viewer, distributor and advertiser demand for the FOX Network's national content. JOB DESCRIPTION anchor noun an*chor a-kr- "A person who reads the news and introduces the reports of other broadcasters on a television news program." And that's not what we are looking for. FOX 9/KMSP-TV, the FOX O and O in Minneapolis/St. Paul, is instead looking for a 21st Century multi-platform journalist to join our Morning News team. This position is primarily focused on our early morning hours. First and foremost: you'll be an excellent live communicator. You will have the ability to sustain UNSCRIPTED coverage and content on linear AND on our live streaming platforms including FOX Local. You'll be dynamic and motivated. You'll live and breathe news and information from our community, state and the world around us. You'll be able to write and deliver that information in a compelling and distinctive style. You'll be a natural live interviewer You'll have: A four year college degree with emphasis in Communications and Journalism preferred. 3 -5 years' experience in a medium to major market. Strong news judgement and a superior knowledge of current events Conversational, pithy writing skills that stand out from "news-speak".
