Robert Half Accounts Receivable Clerk in Eden Prairie, Minnesota

Description

We are looking for a meticulous Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our manufacturing team in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. As an Accounts Receivable Clerk, you will be tasked with managing the processing of customer applications, maintaining precise customer records, and resolving customer inquiries. Additionally, you will monitor customer accounts and take appropriate actions when necessary.

Responsibilities:

• Review of customer accounts receivable aging reports and contacting past due customers for payment.

• Collaborate with the sales department to negotiate settlements and/or issuance of credits with past due accounts.

• Determine when an account requires the intervention of an outside collection agency or legal action and oversee the documenting of account histories.

• Prepare monthly collection status reports.

• Log into financial platforms to retrieve lockbox, wire transactions, and credit card payments.

• Post lockbox, wire, and credit card payments to customer’s accounts receivable account.

• Verify and process credits and debits for significant over and under-billing of freight.

• Reconcile the month-end A/R general ledger balance to the reported balance on the month-end A/R aging report.

• Set up new customers in the accounting system.

• Assist in the daily processing of accounting transactions as needed to meet deadlines.

• Develop and maintain working relationships within the company to coordinate activities.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role in the manufacturing industry

• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience with Billing, Cash Applications, and Cash Collections

• Familiarity with Commercial Collections

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Syteline

• Ability to Approve Credit

• Experience with Bank Reconciliations and Cash Reconciliations

• Strong organizational and time management skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• High attention to detail

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred but not required.
