Tarrytown Rehabilitation & Nursing Center Cook in Eden, New York

New Rate: (Up to $16.50/hr)

Duties and Responsibilities:

May include all or part of the following but not limited to:

  • Review menu prior to preparation of food.

  • Assist in planning regular and special diet menus in accordance with sanitary regulations

  • Assist in establishing food service production to assure that meals are prepared on time

  • Prepare meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance

  • Prepare food in accordance with recipes and special diets

  • Prepare substitute foods

  • Serve food in accordance with established portion control procedures

  • Coordinate dietary services with other departments as necessary

  • Assist in inventorying and storing in-coming food, supplies, etc. as necessary

  • Ensure that food and supplies for the next meal are readily available

  • Make sure that all food items are properly stored, covered and dated in all refrigerators in the kitchen, remove out dated food items in accordance to the policies & procedures of the department.

  • Ensure that the kitchen is maintained in a clean and safe manner by assuring that necessary equipment are maintained

  • Assist maintain food storage areas in a clean and properly arranged manner at all times

  • Report all hazardous conditions/equipment to the FSD or designee.

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds

Qualifications & Requirements: High School/ GED

1 year dietary experience in a hospital, skilled nursing care facility, or other related medical facility preferred.
