Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire is looking for a Registered Nurse Supervisor to support our high demand Critical Care/Progressive Care (CCU/PCU). The CCU/PCU has an open model multi-specialty department with 24/7 Intensivist coverage, access to Mayo Clinic in Rochester and state-of-the-art technology through 24/7 remote patient monitoring via Enhanced Critical Care (ECC). The CCU/PCU cares for patients who are ventilated and/or require intensive monitoring and interventions. The department is comprised of 20 Critical Care and 6 Progressive Care beds where we care for the following patient populations:
Ventricular Assist Devices (LVAD)
Abdominal and Thoracic Aortic Aneurysm Repairs
Level II Trauma
The Nursing Supervisor is responsible for supervising patient care, operations, and staff development for their assigned specialty area. This individual promotes excellence based on department specific and organizational goals. The scope of responsibility for this position includes 24 hour clinical accountability for assigned areas. The Nurse Supervisor creates a professional environment conducive to the delivery of quality patient care and is an advocate for patient and staff safety. This position requires collaboration with all other Mayo services to enhance patient care and assure that appropriate care is delivered for the population served. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development of the life span. The ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and appropriately interpret information relative to the patient's specific needs is required. The Nurse Supervisor supports leadership through activities that include development of staff, teaching, and community involvement. The individual may also be involved with hiring staff, staffing the unit and participation in committees and research. The individual supervises nursing practice within a hospital-based program/unit and has supervisory responsibilities such as staff performance evaluations.
Graduate of an accredited baccalaureate nursing program. Applicants for Director, Manager, and Supervisor roles must have baccalaureate in nursing to be eligible to apply. A minimum of two years of nursing practice experience is also required.
Management experience preferred. Experience in Progressive Care, Critical Care, or Intensive Care Unit within the last five years preferred. Preferred Education: Graduate of an Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) accredited Master’s in Nursing of Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program, business, or health related field as approved by Mayo Clinic Nurse Executive Committee.
License or certification
Current state RN license or current license deemed acceptable by the State Board of Nursing in which the RN practices. Maintains current Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers from one of the following programs: American Heart Association or American Red Cross. Maintains ACLS and PALS per specific unit guidelines. Additional specialty certification/training as required by the work area.
Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum salary every 2 weeks is approx $2,860.00, based on a full-time position.
Monday - Friday, start/end time may vary, but primary hours will be scheduled during the day shift.
