In this role, the MANUFACTURING ENGINEER / ESTIMATOR will evaluate applicable customer drawing requirements and customer/ industry specifications to create executable manufacturing build plans and manufacturing cost estimates. This position also provides project management leadership of new projects starting from PO release through production release. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but not limited to: Create manufacturing build plans or manufacturing cost estimates that account for customer drawing requirements and industry specifications by defining and documenting the order of operations in which the product will be manufactured, utilizing in-house technical experts when necessary. Ensure incoming customer documentation is reviewed by all necessary parties and issues have been identified and addressed. This includes leading negotiation with customers. Lead cross-functional reviews of manufacturing plans throughout the planning process, including risk analysis and mitigation activities. Participate in post planning schedule reviews to ensure alignment between the manufacturing plan dependencies and manufacturing schedule. Align manufacturing plans with internal CAD design outputs. Support manufacturing by reviewing and incorporating changes, updates, and/or continuous improvements to manufacturing plans. Collect and assemble cycle time data, materials costs, and outside vendor processing costs to establish product costs and customer pricing. Identify outside vendors for special processes and obtain quotes for services. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE Bachelor\'s Degree in Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineer or related field and 2+ years related engineering experience; preferred Aerospace/Defense Industry experience Or 4+ years of manufacturing or estimating experience in aerospace/defense industry, with experience in a related role. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES Read, interpret, and follow detailed blueprints, diagrams, specifications, bills of material, and other written instructions or procedures for implementation into a manufacturing build plan. Fluent in reading and interpreting GD&T. Self-motivated, driven, and organized, with an aptitude for understanding manufacturing processes interaction. Work collaboratively with both internal and external customer technical teams. Accountable for the final manufacturing build plans. Able to communicate effectively with internal and external customers at the appropriate technical level. Ability to project manage. Critical Thinking. Attention to detail. Experience with MRP systems. Proficient with Microsoft Office products, SolidWorks, or similar CAD software.
