Job Description

Job Summary

This position involves specialized work in the preparation and development of truss design quotes. The Product Specialist must have the ability to read blueprints and create truss quotes from the plans. Candidates must have understanding of load transfer, and be able to see potential structural issues when they arise. The Product Specialist needs to be able to address structural issues before quoting.

There are opportunities to enhance skills and advance your career by moving into leadership positions within the Truss Design Departments.

Skills/Requirements

Primary Responsibilities

  • Quote blueprints and fax plans

  • Provide a preliminary layout on blueprint plans

  • Assist team members in resolving structural design problems that may arise on various building projects.

  • Assist with Store training on Truss designs and truss quoting process

  • Grow the market within 150 miles from the operating Truss plant

  • Meet and land new contractors in Menards

  • Measure Foundations

Qualifications

Four year college degree in any of the following OR experience in the following fields:

  • Civil Engineering

  • Industrial Engineering / Technology

  • Mechanical Engineering

  • Manufacturing Engineering

  • Business Administration / Management

  • Operations Management

  • Marketing

  • Construction

  • Truss Sales

Exceptional guest service skills

Strong project management skills

Good computer skills

Able to manage multiple concurrent activities

Knowledge of MiTek software (preferred)
