Job Overview:

As an integral member of our team, this psychotherapist will provide outpatient consultation and therapy services. You will work primarily with patients diagnosed with GI and other chronic illnesses, including medical obesity, abdominal pain, celiac disease, inflammatory bowel disease, constipation, Disorders of the Gut-Brain Interaction (DGBIs) and diabetes

Qualifications:

Required:

  • PhD, PsyD, EdD, or LCSW

  • NJ LCSW or Psychology license

  • AHA BLS Provider Certification

  • Valid Driver s license

  • Ability to relate therapeutically with the professional team, children, adolescents and their parents/significant others

Preferred:

  • Specific training and skills in pediatric chronic pain, as well as cognitive behavioral, biofeedback and hypnotherapy interventions

  • Experience working with children/teens with chronic illness and/or health psychology

Certifications and Licenses Required:

  • NJ LCSW or Psychology license

  • AHA BLS Provider Certification

  • Valid Driver s license

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Full Time

  • 40 hours/week

  • Flexible Scheduling * Telemed Options Available

  • Partial remote includes after school/evening hours (ex: 4-7pm)

Essential Functions:

  • Performing complete psycho-diagnostic evaluations and Identify realistic goals for psychotherapy

  • Providing effective individual, family and group psychotherapy including the use of cognitive behavioral, biofeedback and hypnotherapy interventions with children/adolescents.

  • Evaluation and treatment of medical obesity clients using motivational interview techniques.

  • Evaluation and treatment of pre-surgical, bariatric surgery candidates.

  • Attending program development and case conferences for patients treated or evaluated

  • Understanding developmental needs of patient when planning and implementing treatments

  • Obtaining and interpreting patient s behavior based on an understanding of cognitive, bio-psychosocial and aging processes

  • Providing in-services to staff and community agencies as necessary

  • Supervising staff, fellows, interns and externs as needed
