About the Opportunity

This is an open position with FirstEnergy Pennsylvania Electric Company, a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. [ME]

This position is a Service Worker HS out of the Stroudsburg Service Center.

Requirements:

  • Under general supervision, regularly supervises the work of a small service crew, or does service work or a typeusually done by one person

  • Responsible for work such as taking care of customer trouble and service calls, and other situations which requireimmediate attention

  • Performs scheduled work such as the Padmount Inspection Program, street light maintenance, undergroundfacilities locate, line patrols, and other miscellaneous construction and maintenance jobs on both live, secondary,and primary conductors, structures, and equipment

  • May be required to install instrument transformers and install, remove, connect, or disconnect electric meters andservices

  • Perform less skilled work as required

  • Must have at least two (2) years’ experience as a Lineman 1st Class - HS

  • Must be capable of assuming supervisory and administrative responsibilities

  • Must be able to perform semi-routine operations of considerable complexity and variety where standard methodsand procedures are available

  • Must be at least a high school graduate or possess a GED

  • Must have working knowledge of the transmission and distribution lines

  • Must be thoroughly familiar with the Company's switching and tagging rules and must be on the switching andtagging list

  • Must be familiar with Company's Safety Rules, methods, or resuscitation on or off the ground, and able to renderpractical first aid and possess a current Multi-Media First Aid Certificate

  • Must possess and maintain a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)

  • Must be willing to work irregular and/or extra hours as required

  • Must be willing to work under unusual or special working conditions and surroundings
