Stony Brook Medicine (Stony Brook University Hospital) Talent Acquisition Coordinator in East Setauket, New York

Position Summary

The Talent Acquisition Coordinator reports directly to the Director of Talent Acquisition to ensure smooth and efficient functioning for various divisions. Individual collaborates with Talent Acquisition Specialist(s) to ensure and accurate, timely, customer focused candidate onboarding experience. Individual will ensure compliance with hospital policy and procedures. Individual will exercise independent judgment in the resolution of human resource issues. May assist with special projects.

Duties of the Talent Acquisition Coordinator may include but are not limited to:

Onboarding and Candidate Selection:

  • Assists with the new hire process of Classified Service (CSEA, PEF) and Unclassified Service (UUP, M/C) hospital employees.
  • Assist when needed to coordinate candidate interviews, complete references, criminal background checks, and other verifications.
  • Monitors and facilitates initial employment procedures: verification, pre-employment, and employee health screening.
  • Coordinate start date check list for new employees, orientation, Employee Health & Wellness.
  • Process new positions and employee information into systems used by the department.
  • Work with the area responsible for the coordination of orientation to ensure smooth, customer focused service.
  • Keep and maintain all employee documents in a clean orderly manner and provided scanning area with well organized, scan prepared documents.
Communication:
  • Maintains timely communication with applicants by phone, written correspondence, and personal contact from the initial contact through the onboarding process
  • Communicates and works closely with various administrative Hospital/University offices regarding new hires.
  • Manages all data using available software in relation to inquiries, applicants, interviews, and hires, and retrieves data whenever needed

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least 1 year of administrative experience
  • At least 3 months ofexperience working in a HRdepartment or handling HR duties
  • Attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business management or other related field
  • Prior recruiting/talent acquisition experience.
  • Prior HR experience in a large, complex healthcare facility
  • PeopleSoft, Kronos, Taleo, SUNY, NYSTEP experience

  • Successfully complete pre-employment physical examination and obtain medical clearance from Stony Brook Medicine's Employee Health Services
  • Complete electronic reference check with a minimum of three (3) professional references.
  • Successfully complete a 5 panel drug screen
  • Successfully complete a Background Check investigation.
  • Provide a copy of any required New York State license(s)/certificate(s).

Failure to comply with any of the above requirements could result in a delayed start date and/or revocation of the employment offer.
