  • Main Shop Technicians, competitive flat rate based on skill level -We need experienced technicians for our busy shops. Preferred: either a current group leader or leadership experience with NYSI license

  • Mid-level Technicians, competitive flat rate based on skill level -We need techs to perform mid-level maintenance and repair work. At least 1 year of shop experience required and NYSI license preferred

  • All applicants must be at least 18 years old, eligible to work in the U.S., able to pass a drug screen and have an acceptable driving record

POSITION SUMMARY

The Automotive Technician performs vehicle repairs and maintenance work as assigned in accordance with dealer and factory standards.

DUTIESANDRESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy

  • Diagnoses cause of any malfunction and perform repair

  • Saves and tags parts if the job is under warranty or if requested by the customer

  • Complete an MPI on every vehicle worked on

  • Advises service advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time

  • Documents all work performed and recommended electronically on the repair order

  • Road-test vehicles when required or refer to the test technician, keep in mind that customers’ vehicles should not be used for personal errands

  • Interacts with customers in a professional and courteous manner (i.e., when asked to participate in a ride-along)

  • Supervises work of any apprentice technicians as assigned

  • Attends factory sponsored training classes

  • Keeps current on factory technician bulletins

  • Ensures that customer’s cars are kept clean

  • Keeps shop area neat and clean and is always able to account for all dealership-owned tools

  • Understands and follows federal, state and local regulations, such as those governing the disposal of hazardous wastes, OSHA, Right to Know, etc.

  • Reports any safety issues immediately to management

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

  • Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of how automobiles work

  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally

  • Ability to work independently, multi-task and prioritize workload

  • High motivation, work ethic, enthusiasm and positive attitude

  • Some computer knowledge and/or experience

  • Valid driver’s license required

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Must be at least 18 years of age and eligible to work in the U.S.

  • Must be able to pass a drug test
