The Environmental Assessment Program *within the Department of Ecology is looking to fill a *Chemist 2 position. This position is locatedin our *Manchester Environmental Laboratory in* *Port Orchard, WA{rel="nofollow"}. Upon hire, you must live within a commutable distance from the duty station.

 

Join a team working to improve the environment for current and future generations through innovative and excellent science and thriving partnerships! In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing complex chemical tests on water, wastewater, sediment, tissue, and hazardous waste in a production environmental laboratory to create legally binding data. You will gain valuable experience in a production laboratory atmosphere, implementing EPA Methods, Standard Methods, and following quality assurance protocol. You will have the opportunity to establish connections to grow your professional network and foster collaborative relationships within this field of work.

Program Mission: The mission of the Environmental Assessment Program{rel="nofollow"} is to measure, assess, and communicate environmental conditions in Washington state.

 

Our Manchester Environmental Laboratory{rel="nofollow"} is an environmental laboratory, providing scientific services to local, state, federal, and tribal governments and laboratory analyses on samples collected throughout the state for organic, inorganic, and microbiological contaminants. 

 

Schedule: *This position is required to work in the office five days per week and is not eligible for a telework schedule. *Applicants with questions about the location or flexible schedules are encouraged to reach out to the contact person listed below in "other information." Schedules are dependent upon position needs and are subject to change.
