Position Summary(Basic Job Function)

This is a temporary or an on-call position. Provides technical support. Responsibilities may include computer programming or operations; research support; medical patient care; technical equipment maintenance, repair, fabrication or operation; or other technical support functions.

Unit Position Summary

This part-time position requires approximately 10 hours per week. The ULA will work under the guidance of the course instructor and receive training and support throughout the duration of the position. It presents an excellent opportunity for undergraduate students interested in teaching or academia to gain valuable experience and skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Grade assignments and offer feedback to students on their performance.

  • Foster student learning by addressing questions through discussion boards, office hours, and email.

  • Provide peer mentoring to incoming freshmen, guiding them on studying techniques, academic improvement strategies, and the college transition.

  • Assist in administering exams, quizzes, and other course-related activities.

Desired Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Previous coursework in plant biology or a related field.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
