Position Summary(Basic Job Function)

This is a temporary or an on-call position. Provides professional support. Responsibilities may include general business, science, medical, agricultural or other professional support functions. Term: Temps can work two (2) nine (9) month terms with a week break in service in between and at the end of the second term terminate for three (3) months or switch to an on-call. On-Call allowed to work 1039 hours in any twelve (12) month period.

Unit Position Summary

A College of Nursing research project is looking for an Intervention Coordinator to coordinate and manager their 16 week intervention for their large-scale study from November through March! This position will work closely with the Principal Investigator, Project Manager, and other key collaborators to meet study objectives and abide by all applicable regulations. The Intervention Coordinator will assist the Project Manager on research activities during the non-intervention time. The hourly rate will be $20 - $30 depending on experience and education. This position requires a physical presence on the campus of MSU in East Lansing and at intervention locations.

Additional duties include:

  • Coordinate with intervention daycare teachers on implementing the child program at each daycare classroom. Provide training to daycare teachers on implementing the child program. Will also be responsible for intervention materials, including but not limited to inventory. Provide clarification and assist with problem solving as necessary.

  • Monitor the study website to promote positive post(s) each week among intervention parents. Coordinate the hosting of virtual group parent meetings. Consistently keep project trackers updated with intervention participation information.

  • Schedule and facilitate process evaluation meetings and evaluation interviews with participants.

  • Inform the Project Manager and Principal Investigator of the day-to-day intervention activities, when any problems arise, and when clarification or deviations from protocol are needed.

  • Account for and manages all intervention data according to the study’s Data Safety and Monitoring Plan. Assist key staff with preparation and analysis of all intervention data.

  • Assist the Project Manager and Principal Investigator on various research activities during the non-intervention time (April – Oct)

  • Assist in preparing and editing reports, articles, and manuscripts for publication. Perform relevant literature reviews as necessary.

Desired Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a four-year college degree program by December 2024 and will have outstanding judgment, initiative, and attention to detail; superior interpersonal skills and verbal and written communication skills; strong organization and problem-solving skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office programs and a valid driver's license. Additional compliance items are required for the selected candidate as this is a grant-funded position.
