Michigan State University(MSU) On-Call Service/Maintenance in East Lansing, Michigan

Position Summary(Basic Job Function)

This is an on-call position. Provides food service, custodial, grounds maintenance, general labor or other main support on an on-call basis.

Unit Position Summary

Disinfect cages and runs between patients Sanitize inpatient cages daily Clean floors in patient holding areas Removed trash Wash animal feeding supplies Manage bedding and patient comfort supplies Manage disinfectants and cleaning supplies Clean or disinfect animal waste on hospital grounds Handle biohazard an d chemo waste Work in (clean) isolations with infectious diseases

Desired Qualifications

High school graduation or equivalent combination of education and experience. Working knowledge of animals and their care. One year satisfactory experience as an Animal Caretaker I or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience. Participate in job related in-service education. Take first level AALAS* examination with in one year of hire for CAR* employees. Optional for other units. One year of experience working with laboratory rodent species for CAR * employees Willingness to work a flexible shift. Possession of a valid Michigan vehicle operator license(s). Frequent lifting of 2 6 to 75 pounds and occasional lifting of over 75 pounds.
