Position Summary

IMPART Alliance is seeking an experienced clinician and educator interested in supporting the development of a statewide Direct Care Worker Training Program. Our training program is designed to offer direct care workers competency-based training based on best clinical practice, person-centered thinking, and adult-learning principles. We believe direct care workers are entitled to robust training that recognizes the complex skills, deep knowledge, and critical thinking necessary to provide supports and services to individuals. The Clinical Site Coordinator must have experience working with direct care work and an understanding of the individuals and environments who benefit from DCW supports. Further, they must demonstrate a commitment to the advancement of the profession and importance of direct care work in the community.

Overarching Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee skills demonstration experiences by supporting relationships with: 1)Trainers, 2) Students, and 3) Community Partners (Including lab site administrators)
  2. Contribute to the creation and maintenance of curriculum for DCWs, Trainers, and Managers
  3. Participate in internal QI process related to training program content and delivery
  4. Virtual and in-person didactic and practical instruction as needed

Job Tasks:

  1. Develop and maintain community partnerships across the state with skills demonstration spaces
  2. Create new modules related to direct care work
  3. Revise and review curriculum
  4. Train trainers in skills demonstration and evaluation
  5. Generate relevant documentation
  6. Evaluate internal program quality including: auditing trainers, courses, and lab spaces, and interpreting evaluation data
  7. Address challenges encountered by trainers, students, and partners with success in the program
  8. Maintain compliance with organizational partners in regards to students, trainers, materials, and curriculum

Identified Skills Needed:

  1. Implementation of evidence-based practice in relevant clinical education
  2. Experience in skills-based training
  3. Teaching experience with adult-learners
  4. Experience with DCW clinical roles; particularly provision of personal care, IADL assistance, and some nursing tasks
Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in Nursing and/or a specialization in the designated area of expertise; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in planning and overseeing seminars and conferences including public relations, organizing and disseminating training materials and information both written and web-based; budget and records maintenance and computer support; experience in supervision, database, spreadsheet, word processing, desktop publishing; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Desired Qualifications
  1. Experience working in clinical education (nursing most applicable to DCW skills set, but others considered might include medical assisting, medicine, emergency medical technician, direct care, etc.)
  2. Pre-licensure degree relevant to clinical role, and/or graduate level degree addressing clinical education and practice-development competencies
  3. Experience working with accrediting bodies, payors, or regulatory bodies
  4. Experience developing teaching materials based on best clinical practice
  5. Experience with quality improvement
  6. Ability to qualify as a nurse aide trainer preferred
