Job Overview:

The Oyster Bar Server will serve the bar and surrounding tables providing friendly and efficient food and beverage to all guests in the Oyster Bar.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Report to the station as scheduled in proper uniform and ready to work
  • Complete all side work as directed by the supervisor
  • Greets guests in a friendly professional manner
  • Takes orders from guests and Servers
  • Maintains complete knowledge of all menu items as well as some beer and wine knowledge
  • Inspects cleanliness and condition of assigned stations and associated public space and rectifies any deficiencies
  • Continuously maintains cleanliness and organization of bars, bottle displays, coolers, and station equipment
  • Other duties & responsibilities as assigned

Job Requirements:(please ensure you meet the listed requirements prior to applying)

  • High School diploma or GED required or currently enrolled and successfully complete a GED program within six (6) months from the start date as a condition of continued employment
  • Must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older
  • One (1) year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience-required
    • OR six (6) months experience within the Beverage Department at WCH-required
  • Willingness and ability to lift and maneuver a minimum of fifty (50) pounds
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, in English, effectively both verbally and in writing, and understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram formats
  • Must successfully pass a job interview, including a guest service audition
  • Must successfully complete Responsible Vendor Alcoholic Beverage Service and BASSET training
  • Must complete ServeSafe Sanitation training
  • Minimum bartending skills
  • Willing and able to work odd or irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Willing to travel and participate in training as recommended or required
  • Must have an Occupational License (or the ability to obtain and maintain a license) pursuant to the Illinois Gaming Act and remain in good standing with the Illinois Gaming Board as a requirement for this position
