WestRock Company Feeder Catcher in East Flat Rock, North Carolina

GENERAL PURPOSE: Load, inspect, count, seal and/or palletize packed finished goods in cases. Prepare cases for warehousing or shipping.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Checks machine schedules; prepares corrugated cases for production lines.

  • Follow instructions provided by line operator, lead, supervisor and/or manager.

  • Places cartons in feed maintaining proper stack height and carton direction.

  • Maintains packing station with pallets and sealing tape.

  • Change pallets and/or loads.

  • Perform quality inspection of material to ensure product quality to the customer.

  • Assist operator in maintain production and quality.

  • Applies case label to corrugated case and securely seals case when full.

  • Stacks pallets uniformly at required height.

  • Prepares load ticket for pallet count.

  • Participates in line clearance procedures after each item is run.

  • Operates manual pallet jack.

  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Stand on feet up to 12 hours per day.

Must have the ability to read and write instructions and correspondence.

  • Use hands for simple and power grasping as well as push and pull.

  • Use a hand operated pallet jack to move pallets of material.

  • Attention to fine detail with printing, cutting and gluer issues.

  • Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

  • Must pass color vision test.

  • Must be able to maintain good attendance.

  • Must be able to perform all essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation.
