Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. Shift Manager Operations in East Chicago, Indiana

Cleveland-Cliffs Steel has an immediate opportunity for a Shift Manager Operations at our Indiana Harbor operation in East Chicago, Indiana. This role is responsible for coordinating daily activities in the operation site, supervising hourly crews, and improving overall efficiency by proper utilization of the resources and all its components. The ideal candidate will have previous experience supervising employees in a manufacturing environment. There are multiple openings within the operation. Summary of Responsibilities

  • Supervises completion of work assignments and follows established department plans.

  • Maintains general discipline of the crew in meeting the daily production, safety, and quality objectives. Instructs personnel in job requirements, company rules, and practices.

  • Coordinates production and maintenance activities with different departments and assists in developing continuous improvement plans.

  • Monitors site’s operation adhering to safety, environmental, quality, and productivity performance standards, and performs regular audits.

  • Leads employees' training and performance review programs. Improves overall production, process, and service efficiency.

  • Other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma.

  • 2-5 years supervising employees in a heavy manufacturing environment.

  • Must be able to work overtime, rotating shifts, holidays, and weekends.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong oral and written communication.

    Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree.

  • Steel manufacturing experiences preferred.

    Applicants for this position must be currently legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
