UniFirst First Aid + Safety is seeking a reliable and hardworking Expeditor PPE Specialist to join our team. As a Team Partner in the Purchasing Department, you will be the first line of troubleshooting and problem solving for all quote and special requests. This position monitors special orders, new product launches, shortages, and coordinates solutions with other departments within UniFirst First Aid + Safety. When working with UniFirst First Aid + Safety we provide a variety of shifts. Our standard is a 5-day work week, enjoy two days off a week. We have an immediate opening and provide on the job training.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Coordinate and expedite flow of products from our Distribution Centers and vendors to the Sales team.

  • Provide daily support to Sales and Planners and resolve problems as needed.

  • Investigate the cause of critical delays and initiate action to ensure that work progresses on schedule.

  • Keep the Sales department informed about material changes or substitutions.

  • As required, conduct inventory analysis on products and take necessary actions to reduce and/or eliminate delays.

  • Assist Buyer/Planner, as needed.

  • Communicate directly with vendor reps to locate the correct products requested by Sales.

  • Provides delivery information for standard sales orders.

  • Regularly attend vendor training to be up to date with new products and services.

Qualifications

What we’re looking for:

  • High school education and/or GED equivalent.

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

  • At least 2 years of customer service experience is preferred.

  • Demonstrate general understanding of material flow in a manufacturing and production environment.

  • Experience with PPE and medical devices.

  • Self motivated who can work independently, problem solve, and prioritize multiple projects.

  • Open minded and team-oriented work attitude.

  • Basic proficiency in computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)

  • Capacity to follow directions by leadership.

  • Ability to stand throughout an 8-hour shift.

  • Ability to lift up to 10 lbs.
