This position is responsible for helping maintain the investment accounting function. A Day in the Life: Resource for GAAP and STAT accounting standards and procedures. Prepares and/or reviews monthly entries to the general ledger, including accruals. Prepares and/or reviews quarterly and annual financial documents and footnotes Prepares and/or reviews quarterly and annual Statutory filings and footnotes including Interrogatories. Reconciles general ledger accounts monthly Responsible for coordinating payments for external invoices Reviews monthly files/reports from accounting vendor for accuracy and completeness Communicates investment accounting matters to internal and external clients, regulatory entities (internal and external auditors), as well as the investment staff. Collaborates with other departments for quarterly and annual results in accordance with their reporting requirements. Prepares monthly and quarterly reports for management and internal investment committee meetings Coordinates and completes special projects as needed and other duties as assigned. Nice to Have: Bachelor's degree. Previous experience in investment accounting SAP experience Required Skills and Experiences: 5+ years of related professional experience. All relevant experience including work, education, transferable skills, and military experience will be considered. Must be self-motivated, enthusiastic, detail oriented, and possess an entrepreneurial spirit. Highly collaborative. Must have a strong team orientation and the ability to influence decision making within our team structure. Proficiency in Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills. Strong communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate to all levels of seniority. Exceptional writing skills and ability to persuade and influence.
