BioFire Diagnostics, LLC. Supervisor, Manufacturing Maintenance - Night Shift in Durham, North Carolina

Position Summary:

This role is intended to lead a Production Maintenance team. Organize, administrate, optimize Maintenance Management and Production Maintenance activities, and oversee Project Management. Manage and oversee Preventive Maintenance, Corrective, & Urgent Maintenance workflow and activities in the Blue Mountain CMMS. Reduce the cost of maintenance and optimize department maintenance execution as well as management of outside contractors. Direct and oversee the Production Maintenance teams daily and project activities to ensure efficiency and productivity of the Production Maintenance team.

This is a working Group Lead position and is expected to contribute to the maintenance activities in the production area at least 70% of the time and perform administrative tasks in the office 30% of the time.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • This position has Supervisory responsibility for decisions that directly impact the Production Maintenance Team as well as site manufacturing activities and product quality.

  • Lead the assigned Production Maintenance shift to cost effectively produce a quality product that meets all regulatory and customer needs.

  • Support maintenance and production areas by demonstrating leadership behaviors: a self-starter who is organized, detailed, conscientious, and ambitious.

  • A team player with a positive attitude, approaching projects/tasks with a sense of ownership and a focus on root cause analysis/sustainable failure prevention.

  • Review preventative/corrective maintenance activities with a focus on constant improvement of existing procedures/processes and insures that all required documentation and records are maintained in accordance with site procedures and cGMP.

  • Periodic PM execution verification checks for quality of service.

  • Lead troubleshooting efforts to solve and address complex problems. Drive efforts in root cause analysis and continuous equipment/system improvement as well as infrastructure improvement toward the implementation of sustainable reliability based maintenance program.

  • Plans, initiates, and tracks progress of work assignments utilizing CMMS to meet manufacturing schedules and needs; effectively communicates status across shifts, throughout Production, and to site management.

  • Provides training, mentoring, and drives professional development.

  • Perform departmental audits.

  • Responsible to follow all site Safety Policies/OSHA policies including requirements as related to personal protection equipment as needed to perform routine and non-routine duties.

  • Assist in special assignments with outside technicians or departments such as training or personnel.

    Education, Skills, & Experience:

  • Minimum of 8 years of professional maintenance experience with strong hands-on knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and control systems. OR

  • Associate’s Degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience working with manufacturing equipment, CMMS, and spare parts inventory management preferred.

  • Experience in a regulated environment desired.

  • Minimum 3 years in a leadership role.
