Laboratory Corporation of America Senior Corporate Tax Analyst in Durham, North Carolina

Labcorp, an S&P 500 company, currently has a career opportunity for a Senior Corporate Tax Analyst to join our domestic tax team at our global headquarters in Burlington, NC. This professional will work closely with the team, including the domestic tax manager and VP of tax, to maintain tax compliance in jurisdictions nationwide, including all 50 states. In addition to compliance work, this role will also include tax research and analysis of tax law, assistance with various state audits, identification of tax savings opportunities, and other special projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare workpapers and tax returns for federal, state and local jurisdictions

  • Calculate quarterly estimated payments and extensions

  • Assist with state and local income, franchise and sales tax audits

  • Periodically reconcile tax accounts

  • Assist with US domestic tax provision calculations

  • Work with outside service providers to maintain sales and use tax compliance

  • Research and interpret tax laws and regulations

  • Respond to inquiries and notices from domestic tax authorities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting with preference for concentration in Tax

  • 2+ years of related experience in US federal and/or state tax, preferably with experience at a large accounting firm

  • CPA strongly preferred

  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills

  • Corptax experience a strong plus

  • Other systems experience desired includes MS Office Suite, Vertex, Checkpoint, Peoplesoft

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting

  • 2+ years of related experience in US federal and/or state tax
