Insight Global QA Tester in Durham, North Carolina

Job Description

We are looking for a QA engineer to help ensure the quality of our systems. Providing information about how our systems behave and fulfil the needs of our users, so that the team can make meaningful decisions. Our QA is an advocate for our end users' needs.

Our iterative approach means that we want our QA contribution to be "shifted left" in the process, helping to flush out requirements and ensure that they're understood. We embed test automation within the development process, following XP practices, such as TDD, pairing, and evolutionary design.

Marken follow an agile approach, with close relationships with stakeholders and end-users. We release frequently, supported by comprehensive test and deployment automation to maintain reliability.

We expect our software team to be actively engaged in the whole delivery process, helping to decide what to build and how, as well as testing and writing functionality. We strongly emphasize collaborative working within the team. Logistics is a complicated business, so acquiring knowledge of the domain is essential.

Our technical stack is mostly C#/.Net, hosted on Azure Cloud and DevOps. We also use Blazor and Javascript for our web application, and Xamarin (moving to Maui) for phone applications. We have a distributed system running over an event bus and a relational database.

Maestro is an established codebase that must be kept reliable. We're aware of its strengths and weaknesses and are committed to a program of iterative improvement to make it easier to work with and more robust.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

* Helping to break product needs into smaller, deliverable features.

* Risk-based prioritization

* Coaching whole team on QA practice

* Advocate for quality and testability
