DESCRIPTION OF WORK A Seasonal Transportation Technician provides inspection services to ensure compliance with contract documents to meet department goals of reduced cost while maintaining quality.

Duties include assisting in reviewing the documentation of work units completed and materials used to ensure accuracy and conformance to department policies and assisting with the Computer Documentation System and mobile construction application utilizing a PennDOT issued iPad. You also assist in providing direction, coordination, and control of the district's field construction project records and documentation. In addition, you assist with technical reviews of computed costs of materials used in highway and bridge construction projects.  and verify that documentation and work orders submitted by Project Management staff are complete and accurate.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time, seasonal employment, 37.5-hour work week Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday with a 30-minute lunch. Positions are vendor controlled with a flex schedule. One year of experience in highway or bridge surveying, design, construction, or inspection work;or One year of experience in quality control of materials or building or construction industry experience, which includes reading and interpreting blueprints, plans, or schematics;or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
