Check charts for orders, schedule patient’s therapy, set up equipment, administer medications as ordered, chart patient response and progress in patient electronic chart;Complete patient rounds. Recognize respiratory medical problems and notify nursing supervisor/ physician of any change in patient status. Provides emergency treatment as authorized. In the event of cardiac arrest on the Irving campus when on duty, proceeds to the location and assists physician with establishment and maintenance of patient airway. May perform CPR and intubation, under supervision of physician. L Performs arterial puncture and blood gas analysis;Completes equipment rounds and replenishes supplies as needed;Assist in care and maintenance of equipment and supplies, orders medications from pharmacy, reports malfunctioning of any durable equipment to RT Supervisor and/ or Biomed department. Understands, operates and troubleshoots mechanical ventilators; Acts as an educational resource to nursing staff;Mentor new RT employees and students;Comply with educational requirements needed to maintain a current NYS licensure and fulfill mandatory inservices of the facility;Maintain department records, files and reports.
