Description

Position Summary: The Director/Manager of Tax Reporting will play a crucial role in overseeing the company's tax reporting functions, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and international tax laws and regulations. This leadership position is responsible for the preparation and filing of all tax documents, managing audits, and developing tax strategies to optimize the company's tax position. The ideal candidate will bring a strategic approach to managing tax risks and opportunities, coupled with a deep understanding of tax laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the preparation and review of quarterly and annual tax provisions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with ASC 740 and other relevant accounting standards.

  • Oversee the filing of federal, state, and international tax returns, including coordinating with external advisors and tax authorities as needed.

  • Develop and implement tax strategies to minimize liabilities and support the company's overall financial goals.

  • Manage internal and external tax audits, including negotiating with tax authorities to resolve disputes and minimize exposure.

  • Ensure that the company's tax reporting processes are efficient, compliant, and aligned with best practices.

  • Provide technical tax expertise and guidance on mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, and other strategic initiatives.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to advise on tax implications of business decisions and operational changes.

  • Keep abreast of changes in tax legislation and assess the impact on the company, proactively adjusting strategies as necessary.

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the tax reporting team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master's degree or CPA preferred.

  • 7+ years of progressive tax experience, with at least 5+ years in a leadership role within a large public accounting firm or multinational corporation.

  • In-depth knowledge of tax laws and regulations, both domestically and internationally.

  • Proficiency in tax software and financial reporting systems.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a proven track record of building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
