The Group Leader reports to the Unit Leader in the Production Department. The Group Lead is responsible for directing, training, motivating the shift team members in a safe and efficient manner. The Group Lead ensures production of a quality product is met by maintaining the department lines. The Group Lead may need to work, collaborate and communicate with other departments Group and/or Unit Leads to ensure a quality product. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Make sure all activities are done in a safe manner. Perform Risk Assessments on jobs Enforce Safety Policies with direct reports Maintain a clean, organized, and safer work area Support the training of all team members both new and experienced to help reach them reach their potential and strengthen company structure. Support Team Retention thru associate engagement and interaction Make sure job duties are performed in accordance with the written work instructions and Standard Operating Procedures. Make sure inventory levels of raw materials, packaging, and parts for the shift sufficient Respond to process issues taking action to resolve with the team. Making suggestions when possible to improve the process. Respond to quality issues taking necessary actions to contain and correct to protect our customers both external and internal. Lead the Unit Tech for the shift by assigning duties, following up on maintenance both preventive and reactive. Hold beginning shift meetings to share information from outgoing shift, review Safety topics, recognize or address performance, and engage the team for the shift. Create Reports to show production performance, Key operating parameters, and other aspects of the job related to Safety, Quality, and Maintenance. Issue associate communications to correct performance as needed. Other Duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Required: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Preferred: Associate/Bachelors Degree. Required: 1 year or more in Manufacturing Supervisory experience of 4 or more people. Strong Interpersonal, Verbal, and written communication skills. Team Oriented Able to gather information, prioritize and make decisions. Exceptional attendance and safety record a must. Physical Demands and Work Environment Lifting Requirements: 0 50 lbs. Constant: Lift and/or move up to 15lbs. Frequent: Sit, stand and walk up to 12 hours per day. Lift and/or move up to 50lbs. Environment: Exposed to high levels of noise, recyclable debris and smell. Able to visually examine minute defects in parts and product. Must be able to reach overhead, bend down and work on ladders periodically as needed. Must wear proper Personal Protective Equipment: eye, ear, head and toe protection and high visibility safety vest.
