The Design Engineer Role for Cytiva is responsible for developing and designing custom single use systems within Cytiva Upstream & Fluid Management SUT by working closely with Product Engineering, Quality, Sales, Marketing, R&D, Supply Chain and Manufacturing.

This position is part of the PE U&FM DE US located in Duncan, South Carolina, USA and will be an on-site position. At Cytiva, our vision is, to advance future therapeutics from discovery to delivery.

What you’ll do:

  • Create component images and design simple chambers customization request. Initiate, approve and monitor progress of joint tests to qualify component-to-component connections for further use in single use systems.

  • Timely creation, development, changes and release of sales & marketing, and manufacturing drawings for new Cytiva proprietary product introductions e.g. biocontainers, mixers, bioreactors, standard systems and customer specific drawings

  • Create, Maintain and Improve Design Engineering SOPs. Serve as a troubleshooter using PSP tools for the manufacturing team during production and investigations (Non-conformance / complaints) of single use systems and improve First Time Right of production documentation. Support local MOC; which includes validation, drawing changes and part registration.

    Who you are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering e.g. Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, Integrated Product Development, Industrial Design & Manufacturing or equivalent work experience.

  • Additional experience within a manufacturing environment

  • Competent with Microsoft Office applications. Knowledgeable in Excel is preferable.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Knowledge of ERP systems is desirable, specifically SAP.

  • Able to work on a range of assignments that do not necessarily fit existing processes and procedures.

  • Experience with CAD software, preferably Autodesk Inventor/Solidworks.
