SALARY: $21,373.00 - $39,540.00 Annually CLOSING DATE: Open until filled. LOCATION: Institute, WV - Kanawha County TYPE: Part-Time. No State Benefits. _MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: _EDUCATION: Ability to pass a written test at the eighth-grade level. _EXPERIENCE: One (1) year of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in large-scale food preparation and serving. _SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Applicant must furnish an approved food handler's certificate within seven (7) days after appointment, plus a successful background check. NATURE OF WORK: -Under general supervision, performs full-performance level work preparing and cooking and/or baking food items in a state facility. -May select or vary methods and foods as needed. -May supervise Food Service Workers or other position assigned to this area, as directed by supervisor. -Performs related work as required and other duties as assigned. __JOB DUTIES: 1) Read and understand recipes for food preparation. 2) Knowledge of the methods and equipment used in large scale food preparation and the preparation and serving of food in large-scale kitchens. 3) Prepares regular and special diets. 4) Sets up cafeteria lines and serves meals on the line.
