Apply for Job Job ID363839 LocationDuluth Job FamilySupplemental Employee Full/Part TimePart-Time Regular/TemporaryRegular Job Code0001 Employee ClassCivil Service Add to Favorite Jobs Email this Job About the Job Starting salary is $22.52/hour Length of Appointment: 8/12/2024 - 05/19/2024 Duties and Responsibilities: Provide professional assistance with the day-to-day operations of the sports information office Serve as primary contact and handle all sports information duties for select sports, including assistance with volleyball, football, men's and women's basketball, softball and hockey This position includes fostering and maintaining relationships with local, regional and select national media (both print and electronic) Production of game notes for volleyball, softball, and other select sports Editing and writing of press releases, game notes, features and post-event stories Managing press box personnel and compilation of statistics at select home events Contributions to the athletic department website (umdbulldogs.com) and social media platforms (Twitter, lnstagram, YouTube, etc.) The preparations and editing of video content, nomination of student-athletes for various awards and honors and the maintenance of photo archives Qualifications Essential Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree from a regionally accredited university Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated ability to communicate both written and verbally Knowledge of sports statistics Experience in working with diverse populations About the Department UMD's campus consists of more than 50 buildings on 244 acres overlooking Lake Superior, all built since 1948.
