The Summer Operations Assistant provides support to the Housing and Residence Life summer programs, including: conferences, the summer senior program, grandma's marathon, and daily operational functions. The Summer Operations Assistant should expect to have weekly evening and occasional weekend commitments. Job Responsibilities: 50% - Summer Camps & Conferences Respond to student and guest inquiries Post and update signage (i.e. bathrooms & directional signs) Assist with check-ins & check-outs Conduct routine key audits after camp checkouts to ensure all keys have been returned and put in the appropriate locations Attend weekly summer operations meetings Check spaces prior to camp check-ins to ensure they are ready for incoming guests Prepare keys for incoming guests in accordance with their building and room assignment 30% - Summer Senior Program Prepare keys and check-in materials (i.e. things to do in Duluth) Serve as point of contact for summer seniors wanting to reserve community spaces or housing supplies/equipment Monitor and maintain community posting boards that summer seniors can use to post events and activities Participate in "tech time" rotation to assist seniors with technology questions (including things like connecting their devices to UMD wifi) Assist with check-in on June 5th and check-out on July 31 10% - Grandma's Marathon Assist with Grandma's Marathon staffing Thursday, June 20 - Sunday, June 23 Assist in the overall preparation for Grandma's by printing and posting directional signage, preparing check-in materials, auditing keys, checking rooms, and completing other tasks as assigned 10% - Miscellaneous Administration Staff the LSH Info Desk as needed Assist in the execution of departmental emergency response procedures Other duties as assigned Qualifications Required Qualifications: High School Diploma /GED and one year of general once experience. Training/education may substitute for some of the experience.
