Salvation Army Office Manager in Duluth, Minnesota

Join our team at Plover Place, a pioneering housing project aiming to support individuals experiencing homelessness. With an anticipated start date in Spring 2024, we're looking for dedicated individuals to provide essential services in this innovative initiative. We will be scheduling interviews as early as March 25. Make a difference in our community with us! Position Summary The Salvation Army Duluth Corps provides case management, staffing, and life skills programming to Plover Place, a 24-unit permanent supportive housing program for single adults experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness. The Plover Place Office Manager is responsible for the business administration and daily financial operations. Performs clerical, financial, and administrative support functions. $20.19/hour, 40 hours/week Essential Functions (approximate time spent) Perform administrative and clerical support tasks (e.g., answering and screening calls, recordkeeping, filing, and statistical reporting). (35%) Assist with corps finances (e.g., review/submit invoices, monitor expenses, deposits, process monetary/in-kind donations). (35%) Greet visitors, determine the purpose of the visit, and appropriately direct the visitors. (20%) Provide support to seasonal and special projects. (10%) Education and Experience College coursework required; associate degree preferred. In place of college coursework, a combination of education and experience may be considered. Previous experience performing clerical, financial, and/or administrative support required. Pass background checks, possess a valid driver's license, and meet MVR driver's qualifications/ Must have at least one year of experience with the target population served. Competencies Flexible interpersonal and communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures. High level of honor in dealing with confidential information. Works with integrity, valuing honesty and diligence. Proficient with PC, Microsoft Office, and standard office equipment. Working Conditions Prolonged periods of sitting with occasional physical work. Must be able to occasionally lift 30 pounds. Professional environment; not eligible for a remote-friendly work environment. Must be able to communicate clearly in English and work in person or on the phone. Supervisory Responsibilities Provide supervision, mentorship, and training to front desk staff. Travel Requirements Regular travel within the local metro area by agency or personal vehicle.
