ALLETE Internship - Data Analytics & Reporting 5201 in Duluth, Minnesota

RESPONSIBILITIES: Data and Reporting Infrastructure Support: -Assist in maintaining and troubleshooting existing data pipelines and databases. -Learn data cleaning, preparation, and validation techniques. -Work with reporting support personnel to troubleshoot report issues and implement solutions effectively. -Gain exposure to data warehousing concepts and common ETL (Extract-Transform-Load) processes. Report Development -Develop Power BI reports according to established standards C-ollaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and provide technical expertise -Perform testing and troubleshooting to ensure report accuracy Documentation & Training: - Assist in the creation and maintenance of technical documentation for data and reporting systems. - Shadow experienced team members to learn and document best practices. REQUIREMENTS: -Must currently be enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Computer Science, Data Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field with an expected graduation date between December 2024 and June 2026. -Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license as occasional travel to utility based sites may be required. -Excellent problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills. -Strong interest in data analysis and visualization. -Familiarity with databases and querying languages (SQL preferred). -Basic understanding of statistical concepts. -Candidates may be subject to assessment of skills, job match, or aptitude. DETAILS & DURATION OF INTERNSHIP: This internship will report in person to Duluth, MN. This role is anticipated to begin May/June 2024. The internship will be full time during summer with the possibility of extending to a part time basis during academic terms up until graduation. ALLETE will comply with college requirements.
