Residential Services of Northeastern Minnesota, Inc. Direct Support Professional (DSP) in Duluth, Minnesota

Residential Services, Inc. (RSI) is hiring a full-time Float Direct Support Professional (DSP) for our adult foster care homes in Duluth, MN. As a DSP, you will help people with disabilities and mental illness live their best, most fulfilling lives. This position will be trained to work at a minimum of three RSI homes, including Midway, Denfeld, and New Haven programs. Each scheduling period the float staff will be scheduled at the homes where support is most needed based on staffing shortages or coverage for vacations and leaves. Hours will vary between 6:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. depending on the needs of the program, but will not require overnights. Float staff will not be required to remain on call to pick up shifts last minute. Float staff must be willing to work at any program setting and comfortable providing all medical and behavioral supports that the programs require. In order to allow flexibility for the float position, float staff must have an availability to work day and evening hours for at least five days a week, including every other weekend. What You ll do as a DSP: As a DSP, you will help people with disabilities and mental illness live their best, most fulfilling lives. You will assist in a variety of day-to-day tasks based on the needs and goals of the people you are caring for. Duties may include medication administration, household duties, behavioral management, assistance with personal hygiene and medical cares, and community activities such as shopping, concerts, going out to eat, movies, fitness, outdoor recreation, and more. You will develop meaningful relationships and be part of a person-centered culture that values the people we support and team members. Your schedule will typically include 4 8-hour shifts with hours scheduled during the week and every other weekend. We support people 24/7 and have a variety of shift times available.
