Direct Support Professional (DSP) Job Overview: What s a day like as a Direct Service Professional/ Program Counselor? A typical day is working a 4 8-hour shift with people on skills such as cooking, cleaning, running errands, hiking, shopping, and enjoying the Duluth scenery! Being a DSP is rewarding and exciting. A DSP will work a set schedule that meets each employee s availability and supports the needs of the individuals we serve. We reimburse for mileage, expenses, and activity fees! We offer training as a DSP therefore no experience in the field is necessary! This position will provide you with the unique opportunity to develop rapport and relationships with each individual you support! The Ideal Candidate: The ideal DSP candidate has a passion for supporting others, getting to know people and enjoy exploring their community doing fun things! The ideal DSP candidate also has use of a reliable, insured vehicle and valid driver s license. The Float DSP is comfortable with supporting individuals with varying levels of need. Direct Support Professional (DSP) Job Responsibilities/Expectations: - Typically works a 4 8-hour shift at varying times throughout the day. - Schedules include both week and/or weekend shifts based on employee s availability. - Develop rapport and reciprocal relationships with each person you support. - Assisting individuals with daily living skills, community involvement and promoting the opportunity for individual choice and independence Direct Support Professional (DSP) Schedule: - 5-40 hours a week (depending on employees availability and want) - 4 - 8-hour shifts - Monthly schedule - Day and Evening Shifts - Weekday and Weekend availability - No mandated shifts DSP Hourly Pay: - $17.50 - $21.00 per hour - Overtime for every hour worked over 40 a week paid at time and a half.
