St. Louis County Correctional Officer in Duluth, Minnesota

Prior experience in corrections, group homes or security may qualify candidates for higher starting wages up to $32.52/hr, dependent upon on years of paid verifiable experience. The St. Louis County Jail Division (located in Northern Minnesota) hires permanent full-time Correctional Officers. These positions entail shift work (meaning days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays). There are premiums for hours worked in the evening and night along with premiums for working on the contracted holidays. No prior training in corrections is necessary, we train all new hires in our own academy right in the jail. Routine work maintaining the security and safety of staff and inmates while in legal custody. The salary range reflected above is the normal hiring range for 2024. The full salary range, including longevity pay, is $26.65 - $37.90 per hour. This position is part of the Jail Corrections Officers contract represented by the Local 1934 of AFSCME.
