The Prepress Coordinator\u2019s role is to coordinate graphics between the customer and the Food & Beverage plants. This position requires excellent communication skills and a strong proficiency in both the flexo and offset printing processes. Knowledge of prepress processes including proofing, plate making, workflows, and color management is a must for this position. The Prepress Coordinator will manage the flow of customers\u2019 files internally, from third-party Prepress vendors, and throughout the production process. Strong organization and leadership qualities are required. A commitment to providing high-quality printing and services to WestRock customers, both internal and external, is essential. The ability to prioritize and meet deadlines is required.

How You Will Impact WestRock

Essential Job Functions

  • Coordinate prepress work from customers and prepress providers to our printing facilities

  • Facilitates centralized flexo plate ordering.

  • Provide color management expertise for proofing, platemaking and printing, and color standards.

  • Preflight graphic files and provide printability recommendations for flexo print.

  • Communicate print and prepress specifications to outside clients

  • Work with flexo plants on any technology around plate making and print.

  • Can work remotely or in a WestRock facility

  • Minimal travel - may visit WestRock converting plants.

What You need to Succeed

  • Related Bachelor\u2019s Degree preferred, High School Diploma or equivalent required

  • 5+ years experience in packaging prepress

  • Expert knowledge of flexo printing and technology, including plate making special file considerations for flexo print, and planning full print packages for flexo.

  • Knowledge of Color Management

  • Proficient with Mac and Windows desktop applications, Microsoft Office Suite

  • Knowledge of printing terminology and practices

  • Knowledge of high-end prepress workflow systems (Prinergy, Automation Engine)

  • Must understand 4 - 8 color printing techniques, trapping, extended gamut, and spot color separations

  • Expert knowledge of offset AND flexo printing

  • Knowledge of special print applications like foil-stamping, embossing, and special barcode applications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent problem-solving skills

  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and work well under pressure

  • Organized and detail-oriented

  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
