Civil Engineer (Land Development)

Job Description:

We are currently seeking a motivated Civil Engineer with 2-3 years of experience in Civil Site Design and Land Development to join our team. In this role, you will assist the Project Manager in all aspects of civil engineering projects, including preparing site, grading, utility, and erosion control plans. As a Land Development Civil Engineer, you will contribute to residential, commercial, industrial, or mixed-use development projects, ensuring that land assessments support the planned developments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist Project Manager with design work for land site development projects, including water/wastewater, sewer, storm systems, drainage, grading, building layouts, and surface design.

  • Prepare detailed site, grading, utility, and erosion control plans.

  • Conduct feasibility studies for development projects, assessing the land to ensure it meets the requirements of the planned development.

  • Collaborate with senior engineers to prepare permitting documentation and hydrology studies.

  • Coordinate multiple projects, ensuring that timelines and quality standards are met.

  • Use AutoCAD Civil 3D to produce high-quality designs and plans.

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Education: B.S. in Civil Engineering.

  • Experience: 2-3 years of design experience in land development projects.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD Civil 3D is required; experience with permitting and hydrology studies is a plus.

  • Certifications: EIT certification is preferred but not required.

Additional Skills:

  • Grading and drainage design.

  • Layout design for residential, commercial, or industrial projects.

  • Experience with storm water management systems and site development processes.

  • Strong understanding of land development and civil engineering design principles.

Soft Skills:

  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects efficiently.

  • Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.

  • Ability to take direction and work collaboratively in a hybrid work environment.

Work Environment:

  • Location: Roswell, Georgia. The office is in the historic Roswell Mill, offering a beautiful setting with waterfalls and hiking trails nearby.

  • Hybrid Work Schedule: After a 45-day probationary period, employees may move to a hybrid schedule with 4 days in the office and 1 days remote.

  • Projects: You will work on industrial, commercial, and residential site design projects, including developments for shopping centers, healthcare facilities, and residential neighborhoods.
