Kapsch TrafficCom North America Commercial Project Manager in Duluth, Georgia

Kapsch TrafficCom develops smart solutions to make mobility safer, more sustainable and efficient for everybody. We design, build and operate traffic management systems including connected vehicles technology and mobility demand management as well as tolling services for cities, roads, tunnels and bridges around the world. We develop data and video analytics platforms, building on state-of-the-art technologies including AI, machine learning, big data and cloud services to enable the digitalization of mobility.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead budget development, progress measurement, cost forecasting and preparing monthly internal and client cost reports on large to complex size projects.

  • Apply advanced cost estimating methodologies for each cost element / WBS, and estimate the man hours, material costs, and other project costs.

  • Reconcile actual costs against project forecast and budget.

  • Prepare and lead others in completing project cost reports including budgets, actuals and forecast of remaining costs.

  • Responsible for completing and overseeing the completion of project change order procedure and log. Prepare various spreadsheet reports for project management.

  • Prepare internal cost reports for management on a monthly basis.

  • Improve project process by developing and implementing cost structure, then manage job-specific code of accounts for WBS approvals.

  • Prepare monthly write-ups/write-down reports for the cost performance and EAC forecast

  • Identify wrongly charge WBS in order to control the budget release under each WBS element.

  • Analyze purchase order commitment to calculate accruals.

  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the interdependency of cost drivers

What we are looking for:

  • Finance education or related degree and at least three to five years’ experience in finance

  • Experience supporting large, complex projects within the transportation, energy, construction, technology or related industry

  • Experience working with Project Managers and Project Controllers on POs, expenses, forecasting and budgets

  • Deep understanding of revenue concepts and cost controlling

  • Advanced or expert excel and other financial tools and systems
