Job Description:
Lead Engineer, Data positions offered by Wendy's International LLC (Dublin, Ohio). Develop and execute all aspects of integrations between the various (source) systems and the Wendy's Data platform. Lead the design of data pipelines and own their development. Test and release working with internal and external engineering resources. Lead the design and development of data movement (ETL) into and within the Wendy's data platform both on premise and in cloud. Perform ETL architecture design and work closely with the extended BI & Data Management team for opportunities to deliver "Data as a service". Design and build operationally robust data pipelines that can be supported efficiently. Contribute towards best practices and frameworks to deliver a scalable data platform using newer tools and technology. Partner with other BI Team and Business stakeholders to understand data engineering requirements and provide scalable solutions in alignment with business technology strategy and architecture. Develop and maintain end-to-end integrations of Wendy's data platform with various source systems and design data pipelines to fulfil Business Intelligence and Analytics needs of the organization. Develop and build solutions on the Wendy's data platform using various Data Engineering technologies such as Informatica, Snaplogic, and Talend, among others. Perform technical analysis, level-of-effort estimation, design, development, implementation of applications Ownership of all technical aspects of the Wendy's Data platform, including custom development. Keep up to date on industry trends and recommend solutions beyond to meet business needs. Help lead the technical direction of the team, assist in road mapping enhancements for Data.
Minimum Requirements:
Requires a bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in computer science, software engineering, MIS or a related field and 5 years of experience in the job offered or 5 years of experience performing data engineering, including building ETL and ELT, data warehousing and big data solutions. In lieu of a bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in computer science, software engineering, MIS or a related field and 5 years of experience as stated, will accept a master's or foreign equivalent in aforementioned fields and 3 years of experience as stated. Must also have 3 years of experience: performing data modeling and data warehousing and building ETL pipelines; working with UNIX shell scripts and commands; and communicating with users, technical teams and senior management to collect requirements, describing data modeling decisions, and determining data engineering strategies. Must also have 2 years of experience: using big data cloud environments GCP, AWS or Azure; and using Big query, Redshift or Snowflake. Employee reports to Dublin, Ohio, but may telecommute from any location in the U.S. Experience may be, but need not be, acquired concurrently.
