This is an IT Project Manager opportunity that is a contract to hire position. Will be responsible for successful implementation of custom software, internal projects, client management, and overall internal and external client satisfaction.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the software deliverable with the assistance of the team of resources assigned to the deliverable (Technical leads, developers, business analysts, and quality assurance analysts)

  • Collaborate with the internal and external client to produce properly on time, high quality, on budget results

  • Provide traditional software project management responsibilities including coordination of subcontractor work, creating and communicating project schedules (internally and externally), coordination of on-site resources, attending and documenting project meetings, following-up on software development status, etc.

  • Provide "hands on" assistance with onsite testing and validation of the software

  • Write and execute on operational test plans

  • Prepare and modify user's guide and onsite training materials

  • Conduct operational Software training of supervisors and operators

  • Prioritize multiple tasks and multiple projects simultaneously to effectively meet client delivery requirements

  • On-site monitoring and validation of functionality for active projects

  • Act as liaison between internal departments, clients and vendors on projects

  • Project reporting (Customer/Management/Sales)

More specific tasks include:

  • Track and assist with development and maintenance of interface specs

  • Track and assist with development and maintenance of functional spec

  • Create project schedule in Microsoft projects

  • Track development and overall project progress

Requirements:

  • 3 to 5 years business analysis, project management, Agile software development and/or custom software product implementation experience

  • Must be able to read/communicate code/development issues, i.e. "talk shop" with internal and external technical resources and decision makers

  • General understanding in the areas of application programming, database and system design, SQL query writing

  • Competent with MS Project, Word, PowerPoint and Excel

  • Excellent customer management skills for administration, resolving issues and building customer relationships

  • Attention to detail and relentless follow-up of project tasks

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to travel approximately 30% of the year

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Engineering, Business, Technical Management or Communication
