Pepper Construction provides clients the experience and resources of a national company, combined with the hands-on approach of a local company. RESPONSIBILITIES: Ironworkers may perform any combination of tasks to assist on the construction site. This position performs a wide variety of duties and tasks that often require assisting other tradespeople, including laborers and carpenters. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: Connecting columns, beams, and girders with bolts or welding them into place Reinforcing/tying rebar in concrete construction Unload and stack prefabricated steel Using metal shears, torches, and welding equipment to cut, bend, and weld steel Placing and setting heavy machinery Erecting and/or dismantling structural steel frames of structures Operating forklifts and other heavy equipment to lift steel columns, beams, and girders according to blueprints. Working at heights and from aerial work platforms. Rig structural-steel members to hoist cables using chains, cables, or rope QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in commercial construction, preferred Proficient in industry tools and equipment, such as hand and power tools and welding devices OSHA 10. preferred Operator's certificate, preferred Detail-oriented, well-organized, and ability to multi-task Task-oriented, reliable, and committed to meeting deadlines Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team Flexible availability, including some overtime, weekends, and night shifts Able to lift at least 35 pounds, unassisted, and stand for extended periods Pepper Construction is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.
