Oracle Software Test Automation Engineer in DUBLIN, Ireland

Job Description

Oracle is looking for a Software Test Engineer to join its Private Cloud Appliance (PCA) Development Test Engineering team. Based in Dublin, Ireland you will be a Software Automation Engineer in a team of Test Engineers ensuring that PCA is ready to meet the demands of our Private Cloud customers. The team fits within a global engineering organisation that is responsible for manual and automated test case development and execution.

The role offers an opportunity to build on an existing background of Software Test Engineering to work on all the layers of our cloud networking, virtualization and storage technologies. Projects are complex and require an ability to understand a broad scope of technology while also being a subject matter expert in some areas.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Review of product features and definition of relevant test scenarios

  • Design and implementation of python code to verify product functionality

  • Maintenance of existing automated regression tests to ensure continued product release quality

  • Test failure root cause analysis in tandem with product development

Requirements:

  • Minimum BSc in Computer Science or related engineering degree

  • Strong Python development experience

  • 2+ years of experience in a similar software development or quality engineering role

  • Linux scripting knowledge (bash, python)

  • Test automation (PyTest, TestNG, nose or other Python/Java frameworks)

  • Continuous integration, source control, code review and defect tracking life cycles

Knowledge of the following would be a distinct advantage:

  • Selenium

  • Versed in agile development (Scrum/Jira)

  • Linux systems administration (PXE installation, networking, storage, clustering)

Additional skills:

  • Passionate about product quality and willing to help improve standards

  • Self driven enough to work independently when required

  • Comfortable expressing technical details in easy to understand ways both one to one and in groups
