Purpose

The incumbent will be an important member of a strong team who maintain and control Windows 10 Workstations, laptops, Networks, Market Data and voice communications systems, including infrastructure Servers as well as some telephony. This position will have responsibilities supporting units in both London and Dublin.

Accountabilities

  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.

  • First, second and, some third line support, call logging in Service Now, identifying problems and recommending solutions.

  • Conduct and align support duties in line with ITIL best practice and to customer satisfaction.

  • Liaising with all end-users, technical support and design staff in order to identify and access appropriate opportunities for automating processes/new developments.

  • Maintain inventories of Mobile data devices including iPhones, laptops and iPads.

  • Troubleshooting software, workstations, laptops, mobile device and printer issues.

  • Respond to assigned IT Support queries and service requests in a timely and polite manner within SLA.

  • Working closely with an IT team globally in GBM, the incumbent is expected to have knowledge of Banking and in IT Risk processes and controls. The includes collating components and data elements for IT industry defined IT KRIs, Ensure Desktop Anti-Virus and Microsoft Patch rollouts via SCCM are tested current and complete.

  • Assist in maintaining IT hardware and Asset registers ensuring completeness and accuracy.

  • Managing onboarding / offboarding of staff.

  • Preparing cyber security data for review / analysis, assets are compliant with Bank’s security and technical standards (including gap analysis).

  • Provision and deploy applications and new equipment to individuals and groups.

  • Trouble general network and remote access issues.

  • Monitoring system performance and proactively ensure full system availability.

  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Code of Conduct.

  • Contributes to a high performance environment and fosters an inclusive work environment; supporting the vison/values/business strategy for the team.

Dimensions

  • The incumbent must possess a solid understanding of Windows operating systems, operations practices. The IT support analyst primary contact will provide 1st,2nd line and some 3rd line IT Support, some telecoms support and training to users.

  • Deliver routine IT services and advise staff of appropriate uses of IT resources. In times of system outages and delays the incumbent will be required to escalate to Senior management.

  • Passion for IT and Technology to develop a career in IT support technologies.

  • Understanding of common build and imaging techniques for corporate image deployments.

  • Good understanding or exposure to Active Directory.

  • Experience with Windows 10 operating system.

  • Experience deploying software to windows devices using SCCM.

  • Experience with PowerShell or other scripting software.

  • Experience with Office 365 products such as Outlook, Excel, Word MS teams.

  • Experience supporting IOS Apple device.

  • Experience with basic network troubleshooting.

  • Any experience with Voice technology including IPC or Cisco Jabber would be advantage.

  • This is a client facing role so communication skills and active listening are essential.

  • Any experience with Lenovo, Dell or Lexmark hardware would be preferred.

  • Any experience with Bloomberg would be preferred.

  • Any experience with Service Now would be preferred.

  • Business and cultural awareness.

  • Patience, understanding and empathy with others.

  • Ability to perform multiple concurrent tasks.

  • Ability to balance multiple problems simultaneously.

  • Desire to gain knowledge of new systems and technology through in house and external training and studying.

  • The incumbent must have a solid knowledge and familiarity with the hardware, software and operating system environments and the various components involved that the team is responsible for.

Education / Experience / Other Information

  • Knowledge of networking technologies, common operating systems, hardware and protocols.

  • Educated to First degree level in a Computer Related Discipline preferred.

  • A minimum of 3 working in IT as part of a Banking or Financial Services institution.

  • Good Knowledge of ITIL and Service awareness. ITIL Foundation preferred.

  • Experience of managing simple projects with the ability to multitask.

  • Proactive problem-solving skills and proactive approach to preventing re-occurring issues with innovative solutions.

  • People orientated individual with a team focus.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Experience writing technical guides and documentation.

  • Experience of providing basic user training and induction.

Working Conditions

Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence. The typical hours for this role are a 35 hour week, regularly working on an early or a late shift during the hours of 06:30 – 18:00 however, occasionally working late might be required to make specific changes or perform maintenance that is often not able to be completed during the normal business hours.
